🇫🇷 Description (French)

This bust depicts Marie-Antoinette Josèphe Jeanne of Habsburg-Lorraine, the last queen of France before the Revolution, in a faithful and measured sculptural interpretation. It is inspired by the most popular and widely disseminated representation of the character, taken from her best-known official portraits, which have lastingly shaped her image in the collective imagination.

The face is treated with sobriety and precision, highlighting a calm and reserved expression, characteristic of 18th-century court portraits. The elaborate hairstyle, emblematic of the aristocratic aesthetic of the era, is deliberately simplified into readable sculpted masses, while the volumes of the face and neck are clearly defined, without seeking excessive idealization.

This bust also exists in a two-part magnetic version, integrating two 8 × 2 mm magnets, allowing the head to be separated from the body. This deliberately unconventional variation offers a humorous nod to the tragic history of the character, while remaining clearly identifiable as an artistic and non-realistic interpretation.
