Thanks and happy printing!!

Hi, my wife has a butter dish from Tupperware that is very old and can not be found any more for sale. I've tried new ones that are available but the butter gets pinched and always seems to end up on the outside of the lid and dish. I have therefore taken the original and designed my own, problem solved!

Updated October 9, 2025 - Introduced a new version of the butter dish featuring a painted logo instead of an embossed one, along with a smaller, support-free size.

Hope you enjoy it and as always thanks for your support.

Great print! Did this one a FlashForge Adventurer 5M with PETG at .20mm layers. It is a bit large, unless you REALLY rip through stacks of butter...then it's PERFECT! :-)

I really appreciate the feedback. If the bowl is too big, you can always resize it in the slicer or use the Version 2 bowl, which is much smaller. Thanks!!

I'm scaling it down in the OrcaSlicer to fit a block of Aldi Irish Butter / Keerygold. I'll post the results.

Nice simple design, I printed in PETG for food safety and I hoped it will survive in a dish washer. Spoiler alert, it doesn't. The bottom part did good but the lid deformed, I put it back into shape with a hot air gun. I also adjusted the size to fit the standard German size for 250g butter pack.

You have to hand wash, pla and petg will not withstand dishwasher.

Thank you!! Looks like just what I need. I'm new to printing. Does bottom need supports or maybe print upside down? Any rec. for infill etc?

Hi, thanks for your interest. No supports needed on the lid, add supports to the base. Layer height .2mm, Walls 3, 4 bottom and 4 top layers, infill 15% gyroid. Happy printing!!

much too big and actually it is not suitable for food, no matter which filament you choose But everyone has to decide for themselves

Thanks for the feedback! The model can be resized in any slicer if you prefer a smaller fit for your butter brand. There are also food‑safe filaments on the market, and for anyone who wants extra safety, there are food‑grade sealants and sprays that can be applied to create a smooth, sealed surface. As always with 3D‑printed kitchen items, everyone chooses the approach they’re comfortable with

why is it not suitable for food? PLA (Polylactic Acid) filament is a biodegradable, thermoplastic polyester derived from renewable, plant-based resources like corn starch, sugarcane, or tapioca roots. It is produced by fermenting these sugars into lactic acid, which is then polymerized into long chains to create a versatile, eco-friendly plastic for 3D printing. Raw Materials: Primarily made from corn starch, but also cassava roots, sugarcane, or sugar beet
