Description

Faucet Extension Adapter – Male to Male

Сustom 3D-printed adapter designed to connect a flexible faucet extension (hose with diffuser/spray head) directly to a faucet when the supplied adapter is incompatible.

The original extension included a male-to-male adapter with different diameters on each side. The hose side was approximately 22 mm (M22), while the faucet side was larger and did not match my faucet thread. This model replaces that part with a symmetric solution.

This adapter features male thread on both ends: M22×1 → M22×1

Thread specification (metric):

  • Thread type: ISO Metric
  • Designation: M22×1
  • Major diameter: 22 mm
  • Pitch: 1.0 mm
  • Thread angle: 60°
  • Tolerance class (external thread): 6g

This is a straight (parallel) metric thread, not a tapered thread.

Relation to pipe threads:

M22×1 is commonly used on faucet aerators and kitchen tap outlets.
It is not a BSP/G pipe thread.

For reference:

  • G1/2" (BSPP)
    • Major diameter ≈ 20.95 mm
    • Pitch: 1.814 mm (14 TPI)
    • Thread angle: 55°
    • Parallel pipe thread

Because of different:

  • Diameter
  • Pitch
  • Thread angle

M22×1 is not compatible with G1/2" (BSP) pipe thread.
No direct interchangeability should be expected.

Use case:

  • Faucet with M22×1 outlet
  • Flexible faucet extension with M22×1 connection
  • Replacement for mismatched or unusable original adapter

Printed and tested in real use.
Depending on printer calibration and material shrinkage, small scaling adjustments (±1–2%) may improve thread fit. Male-to-male design with tight tolerances for a secure fit.
