- Lightweight, rigid, and fast to print
- Ideal for both DSLR/Mirrorless lenses and astrophotography cameras
What is a Bahtinov Mask?
A Bahtinov mask is a focusing tool that creates a unique diffraction pattern when placed in front of your lens or telescope.
By adjusting focus until the center spike aligns perfectly, you get the most accurate focus possible — even in complete darkness (as long as you have clear skies, ofcourse)
It’s an essential accessory for anyone doing:
- Astrophotography
- Deep-sky imaging
- Planetary photography
- Long-exposure night sky shots
How to Use a Bahtinov Mask (Short Guide)
- Place the mask in front of your lens or telescope, with the center spoke pointing up, vertical lines pointing down.
- Point your camera at a bright star.
- Activate live view or use your focusing software (ASIAIR, NINA, etc.). You may need to over-expose and use your live view zoom.
- You will see three diffraction spikes – two symmetrical and one center spike.
- Adjust focus until the center spike sits exactly between the other two.
- Remove the mask and start shooting with perfect focus.

Simple, fast, and extremely accurate.
Clear skies!
