Description

Overview

This is a 3-piece, modular spray distribution kit for an aerocloner / aeroponics cloner. It uses a central-inlet 16-port manifold, threaded nozzles, and a pump adapter base to connect a common aquarium submersible pump and split the flow into 16 consistent spray points.

The design goal is simple: keep the main restriction at the nozzles (not inside the manifold), so flow stays stable and maintenance is easy (swap/clean one nozzle instead of the whole assembly).

What’s Included (3 models)

1) 16-Port Manifold / Distributor

  • 16 ports for nozzles (M8×1.25)
  • Central inlet interface (M18×1.5) for symmetric feeding

2) Nozzle (print 16x)

  • M8×1.25 thread
  • 3.0 mm internal feed (anti-clog)
  • 1.8 mm outlet restrictor, short length (~2 mm), with chamfers for consistency

3) Pump Adapter Base

  • Smooth socket adapter sized for a typical aquarium pump outlet
  • Includes a clamp/zip-tie retention groove

Recommended Pump (Design Basis)

This kit was designed around a typical aquarium submersible pump rated ~1000 L/h, with shutoff head ~1.4 m (≈0.137 bar / 2 psi at zero flow). For best spray consistency across 16 nozzles, choose a pump with ≥ 1.4 m head (more head is fine).

Pump outlet fit (important): the adapter is sized for an outlet around 13.5 mm OD / 10.5 mm ID, using a socket ID of 13.8–14.0 mm and 15–20 mm insertion depth. Secure it with a clamp or zip-tie. If your pump outlet differs, scale/edit the adapter socket diameter.

Print Recommendations

Material: PETG is recommended for wet/humid environments and durability.

General FDM settings (good starting point):

  • 0.20 mm layer height
  • 4+ walls/perimeters
  • 30–40% infill
  • 5 top / 5 bottom layers
  • Print slow enough for clean threads and small orifices

Thread fit tip: before printing everything, print one nozzle and the center inlet/plug part to validate your printer’s thread tolerance. If threads are too tight, slightly adjust the thread minor diameters (small tweaks usually fix it).

Assembly

  1. Print the manifold, 16 nozzles, and the pump adapter base.
  2. Thread the nozzles into the manifold (hand tight).
  3. Connect the pump outlet to the adapter socket and secure with a clamp/zip-tie.
  4. Run a quick leak + spray test in a bucket before installing in your system.

Tuning & Troubleshooting

  • Spray too weak / uneven: use a pump with higher head (≥1.4 m), shorten hoses, and reduce sharp bends.
  • Clogging: the nozzle uses a 3.0 mm feed path to help reduce clogging; still, use clean water and consider a simple pre-filter on the pump.
  • Want a different spray: the outlet restrictor can be tuned (example: 1.6–2.0 mm) depending on pump strength and desired pattern.

Notes / Disclaimer

This is a functional water part: print quality, sealing, and pump compatibility depend on your printer calibration and hardware. Always test with water first and monitor for leaks.
