Description
This project is a custom cooling bracket for the NVIDIA RTX 3070 (Gainward), designed to replace the original stock cooler, which is known for being extremely loud.
Instead of the original fans, this mod allows you to mount three 120 mm fans, resulting in a massive reduction in noise and significantly improved cooling performance.
Performance & Benefits đ
- Drastically reduced noise compared to the stock Gainward cooler đ
- Significantly lower GPU temperatures thanks to large, slow-spinning fans âď¸
- In a 3DMark Time Spy stress test, the GPU never exceeded 45 °C with higher fan speeds
- With a reasonable noise level, GPU temperatures are typically around 50â55 °C
- Ideal for silent or low-noise PC builds
Size Warning đ
â ď¸ Important: This modification makes the graphics card very long.
- Final GPU length: approximately 380 mm
- Your PC case must support this length
- Installation can be challenging due to the overall size
Please verify case clearance before printing and installation.
Printing Details đ¨ď¸
- Printed on a Bambu Lab A1 Mini
- Model is split into three parts to fit the printerâs build volume
- Material used: PETG
Note on print quality:
The PETG filament used in the example prints was slightly moist, which affected the surface quality visible in the photos. Additionally, one part was printed in a different orientation, leading to noticeable differences in surface finish. This does not affect functionality.
Hardware Required đŠ
To assemble the bracket, you will need:
- 12Ă M2.5 heat inserts
- Left part: 2 inserts
- Right part: 2 inserts
- Middle part: 8 inserts
- Matching M2.5 screws
- Three 120 mm fans
If printed as one single part, you only need 4Ă M2.5 heat inserts and 4 screws to mount the mod to the graphics card itself.
It is strongly recommended to use daisy-chainable fans, as nonâdaisy-chainable fans may cause cable length and routing issues.
Final Notes đ
- Tolerances are not perfect. Some manual adjustment or slight repositioning may be required during installation, as the mounting dimensions were not hit with absolute precision.
- This mod prioritizes cooling performance and low noise over compact size.
- If your case offers enough clearance, this mod provides a very quiet and highly effective cooling solution for the RTX 3070.
Happy printing and modding!
