Seed Starter Tray with Self-Watering Base 49 Cells

This 3D printable 7x7 Seed Starter Tray With Cover Supports offers 49 individual cells, each measuring 20mm x 20mm x 30mm. It offers enough space to grow seedlings to a good size before re-potting into bigger pots. It will work great for flowers, herbs, vegitables and can also be used to root cuttings. It's a good size with the base measuring 223mm x243mm x 32mm, including a filling hole to top up the water from below for smaller seeds to prevent washing away. I have also included some cover supports, with the idea being that you can use plastic to cover over the tray to keep moisure in. This will give it a mini greenhouse effect, helping keep seedlings warm and avoiding drying out. I used clingwrap to cover mine.  I have given a 3mm clearance below the cells to allow water to make its way around all cells without being blocked. 

The reasoning behind why I designed this tray was to get manuka seeds started that are sensitive to drying out and need to be kept warm while germination takes place. This tray will give you a self-watering base to keep the growing medium moist for longer and free up your time to get other things done rather than watering daily.

Please ensure to read up on your seeds tollerances to moisture. If you are planting seedlings prone to root rot if left moist all the time, you can use the opening on the base to pour out any unwanted water from the base.
