I have designed an extraction system for my drill press that can be connected to a dust extraction system with 50mm HT pipes. The device consists of a hood, into which a plexiglass viewing window is glued, a chain of individual pipe elements of any length, and an end element for connection to a 50mm HT pipe.

For the chain, any number of chain elements (filename: Shell element) can simply be printed. The elements are then inserted into each other with a little force. Due to their spherical shape, they are articulated. They can be printed without support material. I would recommend printing a rim inside to increase adhesion to the print bed. I have also found that the fewer elements are placed on a print plate, the tighter the parts fit. Therefore, I always printed only 2-3 elements in one go. When I tried printing 10 pieces in one run, the elements ended up a bit too loose. Feel free to experiment with scaling here based on your printer and material. The uploaded variant is one that can still be assembled well for me and does not sit too loosely.

The hood has a connection nozzle to which the chain can be attached. Due to the component design, printing completely without supports is unfortunately not possible, but for the function and appearance, the support material is not a problem.

For the viewing window mentioned above, I used 3mm thick plexiglass and simply cut it with a flex and glued it into the groove of the hood. Since pdf files cannot be uploaded, I have added the disc as an STP file for you. This way, you can independently extract the dimensions from the 3D model. Alternatively, send me a quick message, and I will gladly send you the drawing in PDF format.

For beginners and grateful for such a good print profile. I will print a few more of the chain elements to extend it. Where can I find the stp file

Hi, I'm glad you can use the construction! To print multiple chain links, simply use the STL file of a chain link. Good luck!

Thank you! Do you mean the suspension of the housing in the picture? This simply hangs on a hook. If you mean the suspension of the pipes: These are from a colleague: Super_Laserkatz https://makerworld.com/en/models/134093-dn-50-ht-rohrschelle-mit-schnellspanner#profileId-870079
