Description

This is park of my WHQ (war hammer quest) collection from 1995.  This model represents the cave in event.   of course it can be used just as regular scatter terrain as well.  and now,  without further adu,  the continuing story of our brave adventuring hero's

Event – Cave‑in

The room was empty.

No monsters.
No traps.
No ominous chanting, glowing sigils, or suspicious piles of bones.

Just… silence.

The group relaxed—just a fraction. The barbarian and wizard immediately launched into a heated retelling of “the rat that got away,” each insisting they had nearly caught it, and each embellishing the story with increasingly dramatic gestures.

Bek, however, stopped mid‑stride.

He cocked his head, beard shifting slightly as he listened to something far away—something none of the others could hear.

The elf, calm as ever, half-listened to the wizard and barbarian’s argument… but an uneasy ripple crawled up his spine. Something was wrong. He couldn’t place it, but the air felt, heavier. Thicker.

He glanced at Bek.

The dwarf stood perfectly still, eyes narrowed, expression tightening with concentration.

Elf (softly):
“Quiet.”

The barbarian and wizard froze mid‑argument, turning toward the elf. The elf didn’t look at them—his gaze was fixed on Bek.

Bek’s eyes were closed now, his brow furrowed in deep focus. The others watched, breath held, as the dwarf seemed to listen to the very stones themselves.

Then—Bek’s eyes snapped open.

All color drained from his face.

He whispered something—so faint the others leaned in, straining to hear.

Bek (hoarse whisper):
“…run…”

The barbarian’s hand shot to his weapon, instincts flaring.

Wizard (whispering):
“What did he—?”

Bek’s eyes widened further, and this time he didn’t whisper.

He roared.

Bek:
“RUN!!”

The sound echoed off the stone walls like a war horn.

And the ceiling answered.

Cave‑in Aftermath

The moment Bek shouted, the group bolted back the way they’d come. Boots pounded stone, breath rasped, and the ceiling groaned ominously behind them. Dust billowed as chunks of rock slammed into the floor where they had stood moments before.

Bek came last, ushering the others ahead with sharp gestures and dwarven curses, refusing to turn his back until the final stone fell.

They stumbled into the previous corridor just as the cave‑in sealed the room behind them. A choking cloud of dust washed over the group, coating armor, hair, skin, and lungs alike.

Everyone doubled over coughing—everyone except the elf.

He stood there, untouched. Not a speck of dust on him. His cloak still flowed like fresh forest mist. His hair looked like it had been combed by woodland spirits. His face serene, as if he had simply stepped out for a quiet stroll.

The wizard hacked violently, pointing at him between coughs.

Wizard (coughing):
“H–how… how are you not—” cough cough “—covered in anything?”

The barbarian blinked through the dust caked around his eyes. When he finally saw the elf’s pristine state, he gasped so hard he inhaled more dust and started coughing all over again.

Barbarian (wheezing):
“He’s… he’s clean! How is he clean?!”

The elf merely raised an eyebrow, as if the question itself were strange.

Bek, meanwhile, was bent over with his hands on his knees, sweat and dust streaking down his face. He straightened slowly, planted his hands on his hips, and shook his head.

Bek (grumbling):
“I need a drink of ale.”

He spat dust, wiped his beard, and muttered something about “pointy‑eared show‑offs” and “unnatural cleanliness” as he stomped past the others.

The elf followed silently, still immaculate.

The wizard and barbarian exchanged a look—half awe, half irritation—before trailing after the dwarf, coughing the whole way.
