Description

Drill Adapter for Bosch MS 80 G Machine Vice

This adapter replaces the slow, repetitive hand‑cranking of the Bosch MS 80 G machine vice with the speed and convenience of any handheld drill. It’s a simple drill-adapter that plugs into the end of the handle and turns an otherwise tedious workflow into a quick, wrist‑friendly operation allowing you to concentrate on the good stuff.

Problem Solved

  • Eliminates tedious cranking - The pitch of the vice is necessarily low, with a lot of turns from fully closed to fully open. No more winding the handle dozens of times just to reposition the jaws.
  • Reduces wrist strain - Ideal for frequent adjustments, repetitive setups, or anyone who values efficiency.
  • Improved productivity - Particularly when switching between parts on batch jobs.
  • It's fun - But lets be real, you want this because it looks like fun!

Design Features

  • Universal drill compatibility - 8.3 mm chuck designed to fit securely into any standard hand drill chuck with a rounded hexagonal design to aid grip.
  • Angle‑tolerant operation - The drive-gear geometry allows the drill to engage cleanly even when the approach angle isn’t perfect with no slipping and no fiddling.

Usage

  • Torque - Make sure to  set your drill to its minimum torque value. If you don't the failure point will be spinning the chuck around the plastic adapters shaft and filling the chuck with plastic shavings, and slamming the vice at the stops or crushing delicate parts. I tested this :)
  • Speed - Set your drill to its lowest speed range if it has gears. Otherwise feather that trigger.
  • Failure Mode - The vice handle is much stronger than the adapter and so the adapter will always fail first. Slipping in the drill chuck and stripping the plastic shaft in the jaws of the drill.
  • Storage - Fits nicely on the bolt-down points of a Bosch PD 40 drill press.

Enjoy!
