🎮 Nintendo Switch / Switch OLED XXL Travel Case
After the success of my XXL case for Switch 2, many people asked for the same concept for the Nintendo Switch (V1) and Switch OLED — so here it is!
This XXL storage & travel box is designed to carry your full setup safely, while keeping everything organized.
🧩 What fits inside?
The large base gives you room for:
- Pro Controller cradle
- Charger
- Dock in station
- Extra Joy-Cons & straps
- Amiibos
- Accessories
- …or even your snack for the trip 😄
The lid includes storage for up to 24 game cartridges.
🖨️ Main print profile (6 plates)
- Switch + strap holder
- Lid with Nintendo Switch logo (same lid as my Switch Slim Case, so you can upgrade and save the lid printing time)
- Main base
- 2 latches + Switch support retainer
- Pro Controller cradle
- Base divider
🎨 Extra lid designs
Other profiles include themed lids: Zelda, Pokémon, Splatoon, and more — pick your favorite!
🔧 Assembly (M3×40 screws ×6)
- Place the lid on the base
- Insert 2 screws into the rear hinges (outside → inside)
- Insert 2 screws in the front latches
- Insert the last 2 screws at the front base hook points
- Add the controller cradle and/or dividers
- Insert the Switch support retainer into the holder
- Place the holder into the base
- Insert the Switch (top first, then clip the bottom)
- Slide straps into their slots
- Close the case — ready to go!
🎮 Pro Controller security
The cradle holds it well, but for extra safety you can add an elastic band:
Attach it to the ring, pass it over the controller, and hook it to the front tab.
⚙️ Printing tips
- Prints great in PLA
- Avoid Silk PLA (weaker layer bonding → hinge break risk)
- For durability: PETG, ABS or ASA recommended
- Minimal supports (mainly the Switch holder) + small brim for latches
