Description

Maomao - The Poison Tester (Apothecary Diaries)

Bring the sharp-witted apothecary of the Rear Palace to your desk! This high-detail fan art model captures Maomao in her signature herb-gathering attire, holding a basket of medicinal supplies. Whether you’re a fan of the light novels, manga, or anime, this is a must-have piece for your collection.

Model Features

  • Authentic Pose: Captured in a classic "thinking" pose with her basket of herbs and medicines.
  • Optimized for Detail: Fine textures on the clothing folds and hair strands make this perfect for resin or high-resolution FDM printing.
  • Easy to Paint: The distinct sections of her outfit (apron, shirt, and flowing skirt) allow for clean color separation.

Printing Recommendations

  • Layer Height: 0.08mm or lower for FDM; 0.05mm for Resin (SLA) for best results.
  • Supports: Minimal supports required. I recommend using Tree Supports (Auto with Slim) to ensure the chin and basket underside print cleanly without scarring the front of the model.
  • Infill: 10-15% Gyroid is plenty for stability.
  • Material: PLA for ease of use, or Resin to capture every tiny detail of the apothecary supplies.

The model is generally very nice, but despite trying it on a few times, I keep encountering the same problem with her right leg.

I do not know why, but my printer printed the right leg proper even though I now see that it does have some distance from the base that could cause issues. I uploaded a new print profile where I added a support for the right leg that should fix this. If you want to try it, I think it will be more successful for you. Thanks for your feedback, it helps me to improve my model and allow you and others to achieve better prints!

Thank you, I noticed the same issue and removed the "Only on print plate" option for support. Because there's a platform in between, the "Only on plate" option was preventing the addition of support for the right foot.

liked the model very much. Unfortunately, printing the base and the feet didn’t work for me, so now it has a floor-length skirt.

Was this sculpted by a human?

Designed in 2D, converted to 3D with AI, refined using Meshmixer, base added using BU. Why?

Thanks for the info. I try to avoid printing processed sculpts the same way I try to avoid eating processed food. 👍

I've tried to print this model twice and both times I've had the same issue. I even ran a FSR model test to see where things might have needed calibration and it had no issues. Everytime I've printed her right foot ends up a mess and is not attached. Part of the right leg will print and then it starts turning to spaghetti muck as it approaches the knee. I'm not sure what's causing it, but otherwise things are mostly ok. There is also a gap in the model in the front of the skirt where it binds to the leg and leaves a window to the inside. This can be seen even on the plate before printing if you move the model around. While it can be somewhat managed by painting the inside to match the skirt, it is a bit tedious. Otherwise though I do still like the model. I think with a few tweaks it could be awesome :D

That is interesting, because another review just came in this morning and they even posted photos of their print, completely intact with no spaghetti whatsoever. Maybe contact the reviewer and see what they did differently?

one problem with the print the right leg is off the ground so can cause printing problems for the user but overall is a great product and model, would one hundred percent want to see more models like this in the future maybe for something like bungo stray dogs and jujutsu kaisen.

I uploaded the correct file. I am not sure what is going on! I will try to create a 2nd print profile and then delete the first.

Looks like the wrong files were uploaded, the printed figure is not Maomao, and does not look liked the images
