Description

Slavic Spirits Series: Mokosh – The Harvest Mother (Vol. 2)

Following the Volkhv, the second installment of the Slavic Spirits Series introduces Mokosh, the protector of women's work and the goddess of the harvest. This figurine captures the essence of fertility and the bounty of the earth, depicted in the same signature minimalist and geometric style.

Holding a sacred sheaf of grain, Mokosh stands as a symbol of prosperity and the deep connection between the people and the land they cultivate.

📜 Who was Mokosh?

Mokosh (Mokosz) is one of the most important deities in the Slavic pantheon—the only female goddess whose idol stood in the Great Sanctuary of Kiev. She is the "Mother of the Damp Earth," the patron of harvest, spinning, and fate. In folklore, she was believed to watch over women, household chores, and the abundance of the fields. Bringing her image into a home was traditionally seen as a gesture to invite good fortune and plenty.

🧩 Design Features:

  • Consistent Aesthetic: Matches the geometric "carved" look of Vol. 1 (The Volkhv), making them a perfect set.
  • Symbolic Detail: Features a stylized sheaf of wheat, representing the life-giving power of nature.
  • Modern Minimalism: Designed to fit both traditional and modern interiors as a sophisticated piece of art.
  • FDM Optimized: Smooth surfaces and smart angles for a clean 3D printing experience.

🖨️ Printing Tips:

  • No Supports Needed: Just like the first model, the geometry allows for a support-free print (ensure good cooling for the upper parts).
  • Layer Height: Use 0.12mm or 0.16mm to capture the delicate texture of the grain and the hair.
  • Infill: 10% is sufficient, but 15% (Gyroid) adds a nice weight to the figurine.
  • Material Ideas: Looks elegant in Matte Terracotta, Marble PLA, or Champagne Gold to emphasize the harvest theme.
