🧸 Levitating Heart Teddy
Combine cuteness with fascinating physics! This model uses the principle of tensegrity and magnetic force to make it look like the teddy bear is levitating a heart right in front of him. The entire model is designed for a support-free print and glue-free assembly.
Added a print profile without using AMS.
🛠️ What you will need:
- Magnets: 4pcs of Neodymium magnets (10mmx2mm).
- 1 pc for the heart (inserted during printing).
- 3 pcs for the top case in the arm (to ensure a strong pull).
- String: A thin string, thread, or fishing line.
- Glue: Not needed! Everything fits mechanically.
- New profile added! If you have weaker magnets and need the heart to be lighter, print a lighter heart for better levitation. It weighs only 3.7 grams.
📖 Assembly Instructions:
- Heart Magnet (Pause): The provided .3mf file has an automatic pause set. When the printer stops, insert 1 magnet into the heart and resume printing (you can put a small drop of glue on the magnet before inserting it to prevent it from sticking to the nozzle).
- Base Assembly: * Slide the main arm into the circular base.
- Place the teddy bear on the base and secure him by inserting the lock/pin into the slot. This keeps him firmly anchored.
- Threading: Thread the string through the hole in the heart and then through the hole in the teddy's paw.
- Levitation Setup: * Insert 3 magnets into the small square case. Slide the case into the end of the arm above the teddy.
- Adjust the string length so the magnetic force pulls the heart upward, leaving a small gap between the heart and the arm.
- Tie a knot under the teddy's paw to secure it.
- Polarity Check: If the heart repels from the arm, simply pull out the magnet case, flip it 180°, and slide it back in.
🖨️ Print Settings:
- Automatic Pause: Pre-configured for the magnet insertion.
- Supports: None required.
- Tolerances: All joints (arm, lock, magnet case) are designed for a tight press-fit.
- AMS: No need. You can easily color the eyes and nose with a black marker after printing.
