3D Miniature of Guaranteed Rate Field
Model Information:
The Guaranteed Rate Field (originally New Comiskey Park, later U.S. Cellular Field) in Chicago, Illinois, is home to the Chicago White Sox and is located in the southern Bridgeport neighborhood ("South Side")
- The "Exploding Scoreboard": The absolute trademark is the scoreboard in the middle of the outfield. It is a tribute to the original from the old 1960 stadium. When a White Sox player hits a home run, colorful pinwheels spin on the scoreboard's roof and a spectacular fireworks display is set off
- Architectural Misfortune: Opened in 1991, it was the last of the "modern concrete bowls." It opened just one year before Camden Yards in Baltimore, which started the trend of classic retro stadiums. As a result, the Sox's stadium immediately seemed outdated
- The Great Transformation: To compensate for this disadvantage, the stadium underwent massive renovations between 2001 and 2007: The upper seating rows were removed (to make it more intimate), a classic roof was added, and the seats were repainted from blue to green to create more retro charm
- The Name: The current name (since 2016) often causes mockery, as the logo of the mortgage company "Guaranteed Rate" shows a downward arrow – which in sports usually stands for "relegation" or "deterioration"
- Cuisine: It is often considered by fans to have the best food in all of MLB (pizza, hot dogs, elotes)
The file contains a fairly detailed replica of **Guaranteed Rate Field** and its surroundings
