Description

The Heil foot switch is about $50.  This is a lower cost alternate.  I tried another I found online, but it was a press fit, it didn't have a good mechanism to stop upward motion and the top kept popping off.

The extra's you'll need are:

    - V-156-1C25 limit switch ($8) : https://www.amazon.com/HiLetgo-V-156-1C25-Switch-Silver-Contact/dp/B01MQPQGFQ/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?sr=8-1-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY

    - Spring ($8): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C33BGP7B?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1

    - (2) M3 x 16mm screws (to mount the switch)

    -  a headphone jack (size based on your application)

The bolts that hold it together are printed with 100% infill.  The bolt holes were done in FreeCAD.  The threads in FreeCAD always seem a little tight, and are worse if you are over-extruding.  I'd recommend using an M6 die to clean out the holes before putting the bolts in, otherwise you may snap the bolt off in the base.

Don't tighten the bolts all the way, you want them in enough to keep the top from moving too much side to side but you don't want it to bind.

This is sized for 4 conductor alarm wire.  You can resize the hole as needed in BambuStudio.  I'd recommend a zip tie for strain relief on your wire.

Assembly:

  1. attach switch
  2. insert wire
  3. put connectors on the wire ends
  4. connect wire to switch
  5. position wire and put zip tie on
  6. place spring on base plate
  7. put retainer tabs on top rear through the slots on the bottom rear
  8. seat the spring in the top
  9. screw together

Positive feedback and boosts make it worth the filament and time to refine and upload models.
