Laptop Adapter Bracket for Linocell Floor Stand (Tablet → Laptop)
This adapter bracket is designed to convert a Linocell tablet floor stand into a stand suitable for a laptop, primarily intended for indoor cycling setups using smart trainers / rollers.
By mounting a flat plate on top of the stand, the adapter allows you to place a laptop securely, providing a much larger screen compared to a tablet — ideal for Zwift, TrainerRoad, YouTube, structured workouts, or other training software.
🔧 Design & Construction
- Mounts directly onto the original Linocell floor stand
- Features a reinforcement strut between the vertical and horizontal mounting points to increase stiffness
- The reinforcement was added to reduce flex and load on the stand, as the original Linocell stand is rated for a maximum load of 1 kg
- Intended for stationary indoor use only
⚠️ Important:
The Linocell floor stand is not designed for laptop weight. Use at your own risk. Lightweight laptops are recommended, and care should be taken during use and adjustment.
🧩 Assembly & Required Hardware
To assemble the adapter and mount it to the stand, the following additional hardware is required:
- 8 × small threaded inserts – M3 × 5.7 mm
- 4 × medium threaded inserts – M4 × 8.1 mm
- Screws compatible with the chosen inserts
- 2 × screws and nuts for fastening the reinforcement strut to the adapter
Threaded inserts are strongly recommended to achieve sufficient strength and allow repeated assembly/disassembly.
🪵 Top Plate (Laptop Platform)
- The top plate used in this setup is a bamboo wooden lid called KUGGIS, available from IKEA
- The lid is not pre-drilled and must be drilled to match the adapter mounting holes
- Other flat plates (wood, plywood, aluminum, etc.) can be used, provided they are sufficiently stiff and properly mounted
