Description

Designed this Montessori-style balance scale for my kids to learn about weight and comparison. They love loading up the bowls with random stuff from around the house and watching the beam tip.

The arm pivots smoothly on a 608RS bearing (the standard skate bearing you probably already have lying around), so even small weight differences are easy to see. The two bowls sit in the base when not in use, keeping everything together.

What you'll need:

  • 1× 608RS bearing (8×22×7mm)
  • Hot glue gun (optional - only if you want a tighter fit on the assembly)

Simple print, no supports needed for most parts. Designed to be sturdy enough for little hands that aren't exactly gentle with their toys.

It's been a hit at our place - turns out watching things balance (or not) is endlessly entertaining when you're 4 years old. Hope your little ones enjoy it too!
