Description

VoxMechina Auxiliary Bay Book Nook

Hello world!

This project was inspired by my recent builds of robots. Every model is unique and can be tied together in the same dystopian robot vibes.

This nook depicts an exhausted droid, taking a much needed rest to recover and swap out the modular parts of it's body. Resting on the eye of a felled IVex, hoisting it's structural chassis above head to repair. A terminal to update it's OS and install bootlegged plugins to help while out in the caverns. One wall has miscellaneous parts from a full leg of a scavenged IVar unit, to the blast cannon of that same glorious IVex fight. The other wall containing power reactors, a pump salvaged from a RMKII unit and two spots for custom artwork posters.

I had a blast bringing this scene to life from paper to plastic and I hope someone out there does too.

The light source in this model is an LED filament strip connected to a battery pack containing 2 LiCB 3V batteries.

Printing Notes
I did enable supports not just on the build plate and made sure it took care of small overhangs as well.
If able I think slicing it in half from the front would be the easiest for painting and printing.
I also included a version of the nook with no terminal wire or front cooling coil since those had the hardest time with the supports so you could add those in post and print them separately.
