Description

This is a remix of MatrixA5's cover. I added louvers and a twist-lock cover. It does not require any glue and is optimized for easy post processing.
I have included a TPU gasket. If you do not have access to TPU, you can cut a gasket out of foam.

This filter cover provides 5 advantages:

  1. Prevents you from accidentally touching the filter which might contain the filtered positive particles / droplets when being used in high exposure areas.

  2. Protects the P100 filter when cleaning the respirator using isopropyl alcohol or any other sanitizer solution (which reduces the integrity and efficiency of filter by damaging the electrostatic property). Now just wipe the filter cover externally without opening the top cover.

  3. Prolongs the usage of the P100 filter. 3M recommends 40 hours or 30-40 days (whichever comes earlier) for P100 2091 Bayonet filter. But scarcity / problems with availability of filter, this won't be practically possible. Using this filter cover we can prolong the usage of this filter up to 3 months or till the person experiences breathing difficulty.

  4. This filter cover embeds 3M bayonet type male & female adapters within the base. So removing the filter for storage purposes and respirator sanitizing will be so much easier. This might sound trivial, but you'll realize once you start using P100 2091 filter.

  5. This design fits for both half face and full-face 3M respirators. Checked compatibility with 6200, 6300, 7502 (half face ones) and 6800 (full face) respirators.

Will be a tight fit. You can also just cut a gasket out of foam.
