Dewalt DNP612 Circle Cutting Base
I was making an octagonal puzzle frame for my grand daughter and needed a circle jig. It seemed to me that using a plunge router would be best so to I picked up a DNP612 base on Amazon. I then cobbled up a prototype and did the job but I wanted to publish the jig for others but licence terms didn’t allow for remixes. So I got on Fusion 360 and drew it from scratch, incorporating lessons learned. I have included pictures of the white prototype, pivot pin issues and the final project.
The prototype
I had Garage Makers ‘Ultimate Router Jig’ but it fits the standard base.

A search for a DNP612 circle jig only turned up a replacement base by Xel'Naha.
So being no stranger to ‘cut and paste’, I merged the two together in Studio. I had to slice a part off Xel'Naha’s base to get it to lie flat on the plate.
I printed it at 5mm thick and went to work. (New version is 7mm)
My pivot pin proved to be a problem. It was a plastic slider with a M3 nut embedded but too much tightening distorted the piece. In the end I cut up a steel bracket to make a new slider, drilled and tapped it for a M4 screw to act as the pivot. (The redrawn 3mf file includes a stronger plastic slider with a M5 nut to hold the pivot ‘pin’)
Worked great in the end.
