Description

The Singularity edition is a static, display-ready iteration of the Event Horizon project. It captures the physics of an accretion disk in a compact, sculptural form. Designed primarily as a Kit Card, the model prints flat and features precise snap-fit tolerances for assembly without glue.

The Physics of the "S-Stream" While the standalone model represents a quiescent black hole, the optional upper segment visualizes a violent cosmic phenomenon: a Tidal Disruption Event.

It captures the exact moment an unfortunate star gets too close to the event horizon. The differential gravitational forces (tidal forces) overcome the star's own gravity, stretching it into a long, thin strand.

🌌 Sagittarius A* Datasheet Frame*

The surrounding frame is designed to be more than just support material. It features an embedded technical datasheet displaying real astronomical parameters of Sagittarius A* (the supermassive black hole at the center of our Milky Way). This educational detail makes the unassambled Kit Card a perfect gift for space enthusiasts and a collector's display piece.

Print Profiles (Read Carefully)

The provided print profiles are fully fine-tuned and optimized. No setting changes are required.

  • Resolution: The profiles use a 0.10mm layer height. This ensures maximum surface quality and smooth curvature of the event horizon without significantly increasing print time.

Please select the profile matching your hardware:

1. AMS Profile (Automatic)

  • Designed for printers with an AMS.
  • There is a color swap at layer 3.

2. Manual Swap Profile (No AMS)

  • Designed for standard printers without multi-material units.
  • Method: The print is pre-configured to PAUSE at Layer 3.
  • Instructions: Start the print with GOLD filament. When the printer pauses, unload the material, load BLACK, and resume.

Both profiles contain separate plates for the "Kit Card" version (with sprue/frame) and the "Parts Only" version (no frame).

Assembly Options

The upper "stellar stream" component (the star being consumed) is included in the print but is optional during assembly. You can install it for the complete effect or omit it for a symmetrical, standalone black hole sculpture.

Assembly Guide

A video guide is attached to demonstrate the assembly process.

  • Step 1: Snap parts to remove them from the frame.
  • Step 2: Trim any remaining burrs for a flush fit.
    Ā
  • Tolerance Note: The internal connector pin is designed with tight tolerances to hold the hemispheres firmly without glue. If the fit is too tight (depending on your filament calibration), simply lightly chamfer or trim the edges of the pin before insertion.

Recommended Materials:

  • Black: PLA-CF (Carbon Fiber) is recommended for a premium matte texture. PLA Basic Black serves as a good alternative.
  • Gold: PLA Silk Gold (essential for the reflective accretion disk effect).
