EufyCam 2 - 1/4"-20 Ball Joint
Print Profile(1)

Description
This is a replacement ¼" 20 TPI ball joint for the EufyCam 2, and perhaps other things using the same sized ball joint and thread.
The diameter of the ball portion of the original cast metal piece was 20 mm, but I've sized this piece in my model to 21 mm to account for shrinkage and to provide a more snug fit under the bracket’s compression. The original stem was 15 mm, with 5 mm of thread, but I've increased the thread length to 7 mm to maximize the depth of connection.
Please ensure you print this model in the horizontal orientation, as per how it's orientated in the project, given that this will ensure better strength when the part is torqued and placed under load by the camera.
I would strongly suggest printing in PETG (or better) for UV resistance (avoid PLA), and I found my best results using a 0.08 mm layer height, 100% infill and 20 walls (to avoid infill) which I found provide good strength along the weight-bearing axis. You might notice that the model photos demonstrate my first attempts printing vertically. While this provided the best visual outcome, the print snapped while threading the model into the back of the camera. I got much stronger prints from printing horizontally, so I suggest you do likewise. Note too, that you can get 80% of the way toward the same result with a 0.2 mm layer height, along with a quicker print speed, but the thread turns out noticeably better with the 0.08 layer height.
Given that we're using plastic, rather than the original piece's cast metal, you need to be careful not to over-tighten the thread when winding it into the back of the camera. Turn the thread until you feel the first amount of resistance, and that’s when you should stop.
This is my first model, which I created using Autodesk Fusion.
