Transform Flat Mesh into 3D Shapes with this DIY Thermoforming Kit!
This project demonstrates a unique technique to create curved mesh covers using 3D printed molds. By combining a rigid PLA mesh with a flexible TPU mold, you can achieve professional-looking results without expensive equipment.
The secret is using TPU for AMS for the mold. The slight elasticity of the TPU allows you to press the heated mesh firmly without breaking it, ensuring a smooth and even curve.
How to make it:
- Place the flat PLA mesh onto the base mold.
- Heat the mesh with a hair dryer until it becomes slightly soft.
- Press the top mold down firmly to shape the mesh.
Hold until cool, and you have a perfect 3D mesh cover!
