Description
Inspired by Everlanders Battery Sled, I modeled this Starlink Mini Battery Bank in Fusion 360 that can be printed quickly and assembled easily with minimal electronic experience for under $20 without the batteries. Soldering Required.
I loved the sleek small design of Everlanders 18650 Battery Sled for Starlink Mini but wanted to have the batteries covered with a lid and still easily accessible for fast battery changeouts. This design gives you the ability to carry 6 extra cells to change out without having to carry another full battery setup and chargers in the field while hunting and hiking. I wanted extra run time and a tripod mount that that was not on Everlanders awesome design. I still carry his since it is smaller and lighter than this version. For extra run time I designed this with 6 21700 5000 mAh cells in series doubling the run time over the standard 18650 batteries. I also added a power meter with a battery graph, so it was easier to see the battery level. For protection of the Mini I also opted a 7amp Fast Blow Pico Resistance Fuse for the small footprint over an automotive fuse. All wire locations are noted on the enclosure and have channels that you tuck the wires into, so you know what where they go on the BMS. My 3MF file has an integrated break away support printed at 45 degrees to print with minimal supports. I also have a fuzzy skin option that makes the finish close to the Starlink Mini pebbled finish. I printed in ASA and PETG. PETG seems to be the best option verified through my testing.
This was my most advanced Fusion design so far from a rookie that only learned Fusion by watching YouTube. Designed a lot of Meshtastic nodes in the recent months.
