Print Profile(1)

Description
Friendship Pass is located on the Sino-Vietnamese border. The pass was first established in the Han Dynasty, serving as a vital strategic pass and border defense stronghold in southern China. It has long been equipped with border defense facilities such as gate towers and artillery forts, witnessing numerous major historical events.
The first level of the existing gate tower consists of tall and thick city walls, all constructed with large rectangular bluestone blocks. In the middle is a tunnel-shaped single-arch city gate, 10 meters high, narrower at the front and wider at the back, with a bottom width of 7.25 meters at the front and 8 meters at the back, and a length of 22 meters, with the road passing through the city gate. Above the city gate is an plaque carved from white marble with the three characters 'Friendship Pass', penned by Marshal Chen Yi, who was then Vice Premier and Foreign Minister of the State Council. On the first floor of the corridor, the history of the Battle of Zhennan Pass, the Zhennan Pass Uprising, and the raising of the red flag at Zhennan Pass are displayed in pictures.
