🖊️ Project: Modular 5x5 Marker Holder – Economical, customizable and scalable
This project offers a storage system for alcohol or paint markers, designed to be fully modular and 3D Printed. Each module holds 25 markers (5×5) and can be combined with other blocks to create a holder perfectly suited to everyone's workspace.
🎯 Project objectives
- Total modularity: 5×5 blocks assemble to form larger, horizontal or vertical structures.
- Filament economy: the model is optimized to reduce the amount of material used while maintaining good rigidity.
- Advanced customization: each module can be printed in different materials (PLA, PETG, ABS…) and different colors, allowing for the creation of a unique and visually organized storage solution.
- Extended compatibility: the design is intended to accommodate the majority of alcohol or paint markers on the market.
🧩 Modular design
Each block is independent and connects to others via a simple and robust interlocking system. This approach allows:
- to enlarge or reduce the holder as needed,
- to replace a module without reprinting the entire set,
- to mix colors or materials for a personalized look.
🔧 3D Printing
- Optimized for FDM: thin but strong walls, intuitive print orientation, little or no supports.
- Reduced print time: geometry designed for quick production.
- Multi-material compatibility: possibility of printing certain elements in softer or more rigid materials depending on the use.
🚀 Planned developments
The project is designed to evolve. Next steps include:
- modules adapted to other types of pens (liners, pencils, brush pens, technical pens…),
- variants with other dimensions (e.g. 4×4, 6×6, horizontal modules, drawers…),
- additional accessories (non-slip feet, fastening clips, angled modules…).
