Description

This detailed bust of Athena (Minerva), the goddess of wisdom and war strategy, is designed for classical art enthusiasts. The figure depicts Athena with her iconic helmet, the protective "Aegis" bearing the head of Medusa on her chest, and her symbol of wisdom, the Owl, resting on her shoulder.

Printing with Marble PLA is highly recommended to achieve an antique sculpture look and to hide layer lines effectively. The model in the photos was printed on a Bambu Lab A1.

  • Height: 10 cm
  • Infill: 10% (Gyroid pattern recommended for balance of strength and speed)
  • Material Used: Marble PLA

Historical Details:

  • The Helmet: She is depicted wearing a Corinthian-style helmet, pushed back to reveal her face, symbolizing her role as a rational protector rather than a berserker warrior.
  • The Aegis & Gorgoneion: On her chest, she wears the Aegis, her protective goatskin breastplate. It features the Gorgoneion (the severed head of Medusa), an apotropaic amulet traditionally believed to ward off evil and petrify enemies.
  • The Owl of Athena: Resting on her shoulder is the Athene noctua (Little Owl). In Greek mythology, the owl represents wisdom and the ability to see the truth in the darkness, serving as the goddess's sacred companion.
