Description

We’ve decided to open up our lamp designs to the maker community and allow anyone to print one!

The Cirrus Lamp is a cylindrical 3D-printed table lamp designed at Dryft Home, featuring a flowing S-pattern texture inspired by high, wispy cirrus clouds... and now you can print your own version at home! If you can’t print one yourself and you’re in Canada or the USA, consider supporting us at https://www.dryfthome.com.

The Cirrus shade creates a soft, even glow while still showing off its surface detail, making it a great fit for a desk, nightstand, or reading nook. Like all of our lamps, it’s fully 3D printed and compatible with either of our two base options (Ridge or Peak).

Print instructions are important for achieving a clean, consistent result. Please follow the settings closely. These profiles are from Orca Slicer, but they can be replicated easily in most modern slicers. The Cirrus shade is designed to print cleanly in vase mode with no supports.

Assembly

To assemble the lamp you will need a cord. I recommend a cord about 6ft long with an inline rocker switch about 1.5-2' from the socket. The socket needs to be 40mm in width and have a threaded base like the one in the photo. We normally use a cord with a base for an E26 standard bulb and a US plug and you should only be using an LED bulb to reduce heat (9W or less recommended).

You can pretty easily find lamp cords online but if you want the one we use you can find it on our site here: https://www.dryfthome.com/products/table-lamp-cord?variant=45162499932217

Here's a video on how to assemble the lamp:

If you’d rather skip the printing and assembly and receive a finished lamp you can find one here: https://www.dryfthome.com/products/mammatus-table-lamp-3d-printed-cloud-inspired-lighting-with-sustainable-design

Pendant Alternative

You can also use the Cirrus lamp shade as a pendant light if you would like. This will require a pendant cord with a 40mm threaded socket and a ceiling canopy fixture. You can find these types of cords easily online in many different styles but if you would like the exact one we use you can find it here: https://www.dryfthome.com/products/pendant-light-cord
