Skis for Twin and other Timber s – Horizon Hobby

These skis were designed specifically for the Twin Timber (and other Timber with same gear) by Horizon Hobby to enable reliable takeoffs and landings on snow.

Although inspired by other designs, this model was created from scratch and tested to work properly in real flying conditions.

Thanks to their geometry and simple mounting system, the skis should also work with other Timber models and can be adapted to different RC airplanes of similar size and landing gear layout.

The skis are simple, strong, and easy to install. For better durability and sliding performance, it is recommended to apply tape to the bottom surface.

Printing recommendations:

• Supports: Tree supports
• Build plate:
  • If you use a smooth plate, bottom tape is optional
  • Still recommended for best durability and slide
• Recommended materials: ABS, PETG
• PLA is possible, but less durable in cold conditions

Post-processing:

• Apply tape to the bottom of the ski:
  • Carbon fiber reinforced tape (approx. 2 × 3 cm), or
  • Standard transparent tape
• The tape improves wear resistance and glide on snow

Additional required parts:

• Rubber band / elastic
  • Hooked onto the ski’s hook
  • Secured to a screw or suitable mounting point
• Very simple and quick installation
