Description

This is an insert for the lower engine mount bushing for various Chrysler/Dodge Models as PT Cruiser Models and Dodge Neon Models. These lower engine mounts suffer from premature wear and allow the engine way more movement than necessary, producing uncomfortable situations when shifting or during load shifts. This insert prevents movement with filling out the gaps in the bushing - works even on worn out mounts.

Tested on various aftermarket engine mounts - please feel free to contact me if your pattern of the bushing is different, we can adapt if necessary and update this model.

I will add different settings with different infills from 100% to soft.

If you're racing your engine, the 100% will do the trick but transfers more vibrations to the chassis.

The Soft Edition might be a good compromise for daily driving or for diesel engines. But be informed: This insert might increase vibrations transfer to the chassis regardless of the infill/variation because it reduces or fills out the gaps between the rubber inside the bushing.

Add: I added another version that fits to the OEM Chrysler Mounts and do fit on the upper AND lower engine mount, also on some aftermarket mounts! But always keep in mind: Not every aftermarket is a 1:1 replacement, so you might need to trim down a few parts on the printed product for perfect fitment.

Print in TPU 95A for optimal result!

Installation: Make the engine mount free on both sides, push the insert inside of it from either side and just lock it with 8 zip ties. 4 zip ties through the slits and you'll need just the head of the other 4 zip ties for the other side. secure them, cut the overhang → re-install the mount and enjoy way less movement of your engine. Proper demonstration of the insert installation is in the photo section of this print. The little part that comes with the print-model is printed seperately for more strength, should be just inserted into the model where the hole is.

INFO: This insert does not replace a proper maintenance on your car nor does it do magic. It just helps to reduce engine movement during load shifts.

I'm definitely printing these out for my 03 neon soon 👀 i wonder how they'd feel with an ABS-GF, could crack i suppose. mainly interested in the performance aspect though.

Tell me if you need support in terms of fitting! With ABS you will experience 100% stiffness for sure, make sure to print with a lot of infill or 100%

i printed it with the default ABS-GF profile and it worked great. no re sizing the bolts or anything, i mainly went abs so i could store it outside if needed.

Replying to @klausmechatron :
sorry, i think i posted that picture in the wrong comment section lol. i printed the motor mount out but haven't had time to throw in the insert. you said something about an upper mount, i'd be verry interested in that for my 03 Neon.

Hey there! I added a new print profile and file that fits the OEM upper AND lower mounts and should also fit most of the aftermarket mounts with maybe minor trim.
