Description

A finely cast French Rococo-style ormolu corner appliqué or mount, featuring intricate scrollwork with detailed acanthus leaves and fluted elements. The design is characteristic of the 18th-century Louis XV period, but likely dates to the 19th-century revival. The finish is consistent with traditional mercury gilding (feu doré) over solid bronze. The piece presents in excellent antique condition with a rich, aged gold patina and minor expected oxidation to the recesses.
