Fuel-01: Experimental Injector Concept
Print Profile(1)

Description
Authentic Prototype v1.1 Design
Fuel-01 Experimental Injector Concept
Fuel-01 is an experimental rocket injector concept model created for display, education, and design exploration.
It explores propulsion-inspired geometry, internal flow paths, symmetry, and structural form in a compact, visually striking printable design.
This model is intended for visualisation, learning, and discussion, not real-world propulsion use. The internal geometry is conceptual and simplified, designed to communicate engineering ideas rather than replicate real injector performance.
Fuel-01 is a non-functional concept model.
It does not replicate or mimic all functions, features, or operational behavior of a real rocket fuel injector.
Intended Uses
Fuel-01 is designed for:
- Display models
- Educational demonstrations
- Teaching aids for flow and propulsion concepts
- Visual references for engineering geometry
- Makerspace and classroom discussion pieces
- Desk or workshop display
Print Recommendations
Recommended Orientation
- Print upside-down for best internal detail and visual symmetry
- Preserves internal geometry and structural accuracy
Supports
- Supports may be required depending on slicer and printer tuning
- Use low-density supports with support interfaces if enabled
- Tree/organic supports work well for internal overhangs
Layer Height
- 0.2 mm for general printing
- 0.16 mm or finer for high-detail display quality
Walls & Infill
- Walls: 3–4 perimeters recommended
- Infill: 15–25% (gyroid preferred)
- Higher infill gives a more solid, premium feel for display
Print Speed
- Slower speeds recommended for clean internal surfaces
- Reduced outer wall speed improves surface finish
Materials
- PLA / PLA+ – easiest and cleanest results
- PETG – tougher, more industrial look
- Matte filaments highlight geometry and reduce visible layer lines
- Looks awesome in metal
Bed Adhesion
- Brim optional but helpful
- Ensure strong first-layer adhesion for vertical accuracy
🔧 Alternative Orientation – Torture Test Mode (Advanced Users)
Fuel-01 can also be printed upright as a high-difficulty torture test for printer performance.
With minimal or no supports, this orientation stresses:
- Bridging performance
- Overhang capability
- Cooling efficiency
- Extrusion consistency
- Layer adhesion
This makes Fuel-01 an excellent benchmark model for testing machine tuning and print quality.
⚠️ This orientation is not recommended for beginners but highly rewarding for experienced users looking to push their printer.
Why This Design
Fuel-01 was created to explore:
- Flow-inspired internal geometry
- Symmetry in engineering design
- Structural reinforcement strategies
- Printability of complex internal forms
- Conceptual propulsion architecture
It is a design study, not a functional component — a visual and educational object that merges engineering aesthetics with maker-friendly fabrication.
