MikroTik RB5009 19" Rack Mount Kit

This is a remix of the MikroTik RB5009 19" Rack Mount Ears. I really liked how well designed the rack ears were, but wanted the front to be more solid. 

I routed my power cord off to the left and plugged it in. However, I think there is room that if you wanted to, you could route the cord through the face of this plate and then attach the router to the ears. 

I did not change the size of the hole for the heat-set inserts for the router to attach, you can use M3/M4 inserts with an OD of 5mm. The left and right ears attach with M3 inserts that have an OD of 4mm. 

So in total for assembly, you would need:

• 4x heat inserts with an OD of 5mm
• 2x heat inserts with an OD of 4mm
• 6x machine screws or hex cap nuts of the size insert that you used

Assembly:

1. Set the heat inserts into the parts
2. Attach the left and right rack ears
3. (optional) route the power cord through the router opening
4. Attach the router to the rack mount kit
