Description

The Idea

Inspired by the 2005 era lightsabers i have in my childhood collection my idea is one universal hilt with interchangeable components for every taste.

The lightsabers are purposely made a bit chonky (compared to other lightsaber available from other creators) in a way that recalls those made in that period. They also include, in the “Button” piece, a hook for hang it on the belt.

The Concept

This one is based upon the “Praxic Blade - Royal Guard set” as seen in the Destiny 2 videogame.

More design will come later and based on existing design from movies, tv shows, games, my own or available online.

The main focus is not a 1/1 model of a lightsaber but the possibility of creating an infinite possibility of  designs starting from fully completed ones.

3D Printing Settings

0.15/0.20 layer height
10% Gyroid Infill

Use Brim on thinnest pieces.
Depending on your printer capabilities you might need some supports.

As for the blade simply in the slicer remove infill, bottom and upper layers. Just leave 2 walls (the thickness of the two walls together must be 8mm).

Note

You can lock the Crystal support and the arms holding the Crystal housing with 2 tiny bits of filament.

Also available is the Multicolor Handle but since it's a very loooong print a H2D is recommended.
