Description

Model description

Two-Part 3D Printed Wheels for RC Cars (Scale 1:16)
This is a fully 3D-printed two-component wheel design for 1:16 scale RC cars.
The wheel consists of a rigid inner rim and a flexible outer tire, providing a good balance between strength, grip, and durability.

  • Outer diameter: 86 mm
  • Width: 46 mm
  • Hex hub: 12 mm

The inner rim is designed to be printed from rigid materials such as PLA or PETG (recommended), while the tire is printed from TPU for flexibility and traction.

Printing and Assembly Process

The wheel is printed in two stages using a standard FDM 3D printer:
First, print the inner rigid rim separately using PLA or PETG.
Then start printing the TPU tire.
The G-code includes an automatic pause at a specific layer.
During this pause, insert the previously printed rim into the partially printed tire.
Resume printing — the printer will encapsulate the rim inside the tire, forming a solid mechanical bond without glue or additional fasteners.
