🐟 Ultra-Realistic 4cm Soft Bait Mold (Kraken Shad Style) 🐟

Bring your lure-making game to the next level! This is a precision-engineered 2-piece mold for casting soft plastic baits, inspired by the legendary Libra Lures Kraken Shad. Perfect for Trout, Perch, and Chub enthusiasts.

🌟 Project Features:

  • Perfect Micro Size: 4cm (approx. 1.57") length—the "golden standard" for Ultra-Light (UL) spinning.
  • High-Frequency Action: The ribbed body and tail design provide aggressive vibration even at ultra-slow retrieval speeds.
  • Seamless Design: Features 4 alignment pins to ensure a perfect fit between halves, minimizing flashing (seams).
  • DIY Friendly: Designed specifically for 3D printing, with smooth internal cavities for a high-gloss finish on your lures.

🛠️ Recommended Print Settings:

For the best results and heat resistance, use these settings:

ParameterRecommended Setting
MaterialPETG or ASA (Better heat resistance for hot plastisol)
Layer Height0.12mm (Fine) for maximum detail
Wall Loops4 or more (To prevent leaking)
Infill30% - 50% (Gyroid)
Top/Bottom Layers5 layers for a solid seal

🎨 How to Cast Your Bait:

  1. Prep the Mold: Apply a tiny bit of silicone oil or mold release inside.
  2. Secure: Use a small clamp or strong rubber bands to hold the two halves tightly.
  3. Heat & Mix: Heat your plastisol and add your favorite pigments and glitter (glimmer blue/silver works wonders for this shape!).
  4. Inject: Slowly inject the liquid plastic through the sprue.
  5. Cool Down: Wait about 5-8 minutes before demolding to ensure the ribs are fully set.

⚠️ Pro Tip

If you are using PLA, make sure to let the mold cool down completely between pours to prevent the plastic from deforming the mold. For heavy production, resin printing or ASA is highly recommended!
