Description

This case is specifically for this hall effect sensor. It has a recess of the chip to be placed in the correct location.

Then the small part is inserted and glued in place with the wires passing through it. The next step is to clip the chip wires short leaving enough length so that you can bend them over the three harness wires. Then press the wires into the clips and bend them over.

Add some glue to the wires and the small piece so nothing moves around while you are soldering. Use lots of flux and be fast so that you do not melt the case or overheat the chip. I have limited experience soldering so I went through a few chips and cases before I got it right. Make sure that nothing is touching before potting it in place. I used UV resin because it is fast and creates the watertight unit.

Link to Ih8mud thread where you can find more information about the Texas instruments Hall effect chip and wiring.

Also, make sure you verify the order of the wires. I had to swap the connector pins on the red and yellow wires because I installed them wrong.
