Description
Stationery for the visually impaired on the market is expensive and difficult to use, so I made this visually impaired stationery set:
- Two types of rulers:
- 20cm visually enhanced ruler, millimeter scale, Arabic numerals and Braille markings, suitable for those with low vision
- 20cm classic Braille ruler, suitable for the completely blind
- Portable compass: can open 60 degrees, with a rotatable writing head and handle to accommodate Braille punching. Print in Place, requires removing supports and breaking apart movable parts.
- Protractor: base length 8cm, with centimeter scale, angle markings at 30°, 60°, 90°, 120°, 150°, 180°
- Set squares:
- 45°-45°-90° isosceles right triangle, right-angle sides 8cm long, centimeter scale on right-angle sides, central scale on hypotenuse
- 30°-60°-90° right triangle, short right-angle side 8cm long, centimeter scale on right-angle sides, central scale on hypotenuse
Braille number and letter movable type stamp
When in use, assemble the movable type, hold the base with your palm facing up, place the Braille embossing surface facing up under the Braille paper, and press the target text with your thumb to create Braille
- Base with handle
- Buckles
- Braille letter movable type A, B, C, D, E, with recessed letters on the back
- Braille number movable type 0-9, with recessed letters on the back
- ____ and √ formed by Braille dots
- The second board has blank movable type plates, allowing you to add other text or patterns for embossing. However, please note that this is an embosser specifically designed for Braille; only shapes made of conical objects can be embossed correctly, other geometric shapes cannot. I also made another type of Braille embossing head that fits this more universal embosser on MakerWorld: https://makerworld.com.cn/zh/models/552253-zhi-zhang-ya-hua-ji-ke-ti-huan-ya-hua-tou-100-ke-d#profileId-1222059.
- I will add more Braille movable type if I have time.
The uploaded settings are for three-color printing. You can replace red with one of the other two colors for two-color printing, or print in a single color directly.
For two-color printing, it is recommended to use highly contrasting colors, which is friendly for those with low vision.
For completely blind users, ruler A does not need to be printed; any single color print can be used.
