The work focuses exclusively on the head and upper torso, in keeping with classical bust traditions, highlighting the writer’s defining features: a calm and resolute gaze, a dense and structured beard, and the distinctive volumes of his face.
The approach favors a strong sculptural reading, with clearly defined planes and deeply carved lines, rather than a realistic rendering. Natural facial asymmetries are deliberately preserved, enhancing the sense of presence and authenticity.
