Description

This is a custom recreation of a Red Rocket Mega sign, similar to what gamers might see playing Bethesda's Fallout 4 or Fallout 76.  I took design cues from Red Rocket gas stations in both games, plus the Red Rocket Mega Sign buildable camp version and the Red Rocket Highway Mega Stop sign in Fallout 76. I tried to stay true to the game while considering 3D printability, ability to be built fairly easily, and sturdiness of the final assembly.

This thing is BIG when it is all assembled!  See the images with tape measures showing inches (~24 tall, ~12 wide) and centimeters (~60 cm tall, ~30 cm wide).  It looks great with my Fallout bobbleheads (see the image of the final display).  This was setup and printed on a Bambu Lab A1 and it requires the full 256 x 256  x 256 mm to print.  It could probably be sized down to print on an A1 mini fairly easily in the slicer.

The Red Rocket text and the circular sign both require multicolor printing with an AMS or manual filament swaps.  I made an effort to keep filament swaps to a minimum (see the image showing the waste filament tray with the purge towers and all of the waste filament from the entire printing job).

I intentionally made the leg and support joints a little loose to make assembly easier and allow for some manual adjustments before and (quickly) after gluing. I recommend all joints be glued with cyanoacrylate (i.e., C.A., superglue) and taped or otherwise stabilized until the joints are completely set.

The only joints that are intentionally tight are the small pins for the circular lower leg stabilizer.  If the joints are too tight, don't force them, reprint just the pins and down scale them a few percentage points.

Very cool! I used a different rocket, since I had it. Was a coat hanger and I glued the halves together and used it for this Red Rocket display. Nothing wrong with the rocket that comes with this STL, I was just saving filament. All the other pieces printed perfectly! One thing, look at the pictures and remembe which black squares go where, as in, the double square nobs go above the single one. I almost thought they were the same, when I wasn't really paying attention.

Awesome model, the silk rocket looks great, kind of like anodized aluminum.
