Description

Nitecore tip2 type c charging port modification project. You would need extra parts listed below and ability to solder type c PCB to main flex cable and unsolder old micro usb port.

BOM:

    1. Type c port and 2 wires to solder. Search for micro usb → type c in place modification ports sold on amazon/aliexpress/etc. They contain type c port and micro PCB with 2 CC resistors on it.

    2. Two round magnets. I've used 6x2mm magnets. But you can change size a bit in parametric model menu.

    3. “One second” cyanoacrylate glue to glue the magnets and type c port to printed chassis. Gel glue is recommended.

Extra but recommended:

    1. A bit of thermal paste to use with radiator plate

    2. Something like epoxy glue to glue the PCB and wires to chassis on top. I've used a bit of hot glue, but it is not a best choice.

You can find how to disassembly tip2 on internet, basically unscrew 2 screws near buttons, take old chassis out, take all the electronics out and unsolder old chassis with micro usb port from main flex cable pcb.

Enjoy your tip2 now with type c :)
