Description

This is a functional 3D printable alternative to the BMW factory tool #83300495830. These extenders are essential for BMW owners and mechanics who need to raise the hood higher than the standard position for safer and easier service access.

Design Features:

Maximum Strength: Specifically designed to be printed horizontally. This orientation ensures that the plastic layers run along the length of the tool, preventing snaps under tension and providing maximum structural integrity.

Support-Free: The geometry is optimized for 3D printing. No supports required when printed on its side.

Precision Fit: Heavy-duty sleeves designed to snap securely onto the ball stud and ball socket ends.

Available Sizes: Large Extender: Small Extender

Recommended Print Settings:

Material: PETG, ABS, or ASA (Highly recommended for chemical resistance and durability in a garage environment). I use PLA.

Orientation: Print horizontally (on its side) for maximum strength.

Wall Loops: 4–6 layers for a solid shell. Infill: 40% or higher (Gyroid or Grid).

Supports: None.

Safety Disclaimer: Always ensure the extenders are fully seated on the ball studs before working under the hood. Use at your own risk
