Description
The locomotive series 781, until 1988 the series T 679.1 is the Czech or Czechoslovak designation of the Soviet locomotive type M62 nicknamed "Sergey", a diesel locomotive with electric power transmission, which was developed and mass-produced by the locomotive plant in Voroshilovgrad (Luhansk) in the Soviet Union or in the Ukrainian SSR. The development, design and construction of two test units took place between 1962 and 1964, and mass production then between 1965 and 2001. A total of 3,273 units of this locomotive series were produced.
