Sir Aldric Leonhart, Shield of the Broken Crown

Race / Class: Human Fighter
Archetype: Battle Master or Champion (either fits perfectly)

Backstory

Sir Aldric Leonhart was once a knight of a fallen kingdom, sworn to a crown that no longer exists. When the realm fractured under betrayal and civil war, Aldric was among the last defenders who held the capital long enough for civilians to flee. The king died on the palace steps. Aldric survived, carrying guilt heavier than his armor.

His shield bears the lion of his homeland, carved from oak taken from the royal hall doors after the city burned. He reforged it himself, swearing that as long as he stands, the lion will never kneel again.

Now a seasoned warrior with steel in his hair and scars beneath every plate, Aldric sells his sword only to causes he believes in. He protects caravans, defends border towns, and steps into hopeless battles when others turn away. He does not seek glory, titles, or redemption. He fights because someone has to stand when the line breaks.

Aldric is calm, disciplined, and unshakable in combat. He does not rage or boast. When he raises his shield and sets his feet, enemies learn what it means to face a man who refuses to fall.
