Description

Designed this replacement Optical Encoder Wheel / Disk for vintage Atari 4.5" Maxi Trackballs. These trackballs are found in games like Atari Missile Command, Xs and Os Football, and Basketball, etc. Replaces Atari Part Number: 000616-01 - Light Hub.

This design differs from the original or other reproductions as it includes an additional support connection on the top of the encoder teeth, which prevents them from breaking off (common failure point). This support does not interfere the operation of the encoder, just makes it more resilient. I have tested these in my Missile Command and they work great.

This encoder has the same number of steps as the OEM part  (36 teeth). Recommend that this is printed in a dark color (black works best) to ensure adequate opacity for the optical sensors. Lighter colors may not work.

Please consider leaving a thumbs up if you like this model. :)
