This is my design for a printable fishing hand reel. All the options I saw did not tick all the boxes for me so I designed this one!
This hand reel is a super easy print with an optimized design. The holes in the middle are for your fingers to hold the reel securely while fighting a big fish. The smaller holes/slots around the outside of the reel are used to secure the hook when traveling. And there are two very small holes on the side of the reel, these are used to tie your line onto the reel before spooling so you don't loose a fish or your line!
To use this reel, start by holding on to the inner holes and get a good comfortable grip. Face the top of the reel towards the water or whatever direction you want to cast. Then grab your bait or lure and give it a good toss. To reel back in hold the reel perpendicular to your body and use your other hand to wrap the line back around the spool!
This is a simple design but works great for fishing off the shore or on a dock. I have caught bluegill, bass and some smallmouth on this reel and it was a blast to reel them in!
