This is a remix of the original Modular Hydroponics Tower cup, redesigned for quiet, low-energy indoor hydroponics using an integrated mini-reservoir + overflow system, working like a hybrid Kratky setup.
 

How it works (Hybrid Kratky-style)

  • Nutrient solution is pumped to the top of the tower and flows down into each cup.
  • Each cup fills to a built-in max water level (around 3/4 height toward the pot) and then overflows, preventing overfilling and maintaining an air gap so roots can get both water and oxygen.
  • The net pot is designed for LECA/clay pebbles for added airflow, while roots can hang down into the reservoir below.


Low-pump & quieter indoor operation
Unlike continuous drip towers (constant dripping “fountain” sound), this design supports 1–4 short pump cycles per day.
Every cycle refills and refreshes the reservoirs: fresh solution flows in and the overflow helps flush out older solution, keeping nutrients more consistent without running the pump all day.
 

Design highlights / printing notes

  • Overflow limit helps prevent roots from being fully submerged.
  • Reservoir-under-pot provides a buffer so plants don’t dry out between cycles.
  • Recommended materials: PETG/ASA (better for warm/wet environments than PLA).
  • Use opaque/light-blocking filament around the reservoir to reduce algae growth.
  • Short, more frequent cycles (2–4/day) are recommended in warmer rooms or for larger plants.


Best use cases
Great for lettuce, basil, mint, small herbs, and other small-to-medium crops in a modular vertical setup.
