Color Inlay Logic Puzzle – No AMS Required

This is a color logic puzzle that looks simple at first glance – but don’t be fooled.
Once you start trying to solve it, the challenge quickly ramps up and can become surprisingly addictive. Very often you’ll think you’re almost done… only to realize that one single color doesn’t fit anymore. Solving it can take much longer than expected and really puts your spatial thinking and patience to the test.

🧩 Printing Overview

The puzzle is designed to be printed in three separate parts, making it easy to print even without an AMS:

• Base plate – 1 print plate
• 9 puzzle blocks – 1 print plate
• 36 colored inlays in 5 different colors – 5 print plates

🎨 Inlays & Fit

• The colored inlays are designed 0.15 mm smaller than the cutouts in the puzzle blocks.

• On my Bambu A1 with generic PLA, the fit is perfect and the inlays stay in place without glue.
   

  

Important Tip

Before printing everything:

• Print one puzzle block and one inlay first to test the fit.
• If the fit is too tight or too loose:
  • Slightly scale the inlays in the slicer, or
  • Glue the inlays into the blocks if needed.

⚙️ Assembly

The colored inlays must be inserted exactly as shown below.
Only with the correct inlay orientation does the puzzle work as intended and reach its full difficulty.
