Description

Boost Me (for free)

If you like the concept, please BOOST this model — it really helps support further development 🙏

Museum of Us is a 3D-printed frame designed to turn a classic 10x15 photo into a tiny museum gallery.
The concept is simple: multiple frames on the wall, but only one printed photo slid inside, giving the illusion of several separate pictures.

To create your own photo layout easily, I built a free web tool:
Upload your photos, generate the layout, print it, and slide it into the frame.

UPDATE : the layout generator is now fixed, try it again!!

Both 15x21 and 10x15 layout are avaliables.

🔄 Updated thanks to early feedback

This version has been refined based on feedback from early printers:

  • supports have been redesigned for easier removal,
  • a small integrated stand was added to allow the diorama to sit on a desk or shelf,
  • overall printability was improved,
  • and the outer frame was slightly widened for better rigidity and assembly comfort.
  • I also added a

Thanks to everyone who shared their experience — it directly shaped this version.

❤️ A perfect personalized Valentine’s Day gift

Museum of Us was designed as a meaningful, personalized gift — especially for Valentine’s Day.
Instead of a single framed photo, it turns shared memories into a miniature museum of your relationship.

By combining multiple moments into one curated gallery, it becomes a unique object that feels:

  • personal
  • symbolic
  • and made to last

It’s an ideal gift if you want something handmade, thoughtful, and truly unique, rather than a generic photo frame.

🖼️ Glass slot for a real diorama effect

The black outer frame includes a 2 mm slot designed to insert a thin glass or acrylic sheet.
You can easily reuse the glass from a cheap photo frame, which greatly enhances the real diorama / museum showcase feel.
⚠️ Cut the supports carefully with a scalpel before inserting the glass to avoid stress or scratches.

The glass slit for 100x150 is 103x153mmx2.4mm, depending on your printer precision, I recommend at least a 0.4mm margin (go 102x152 it's fine). The length can be even longer as the slit is longer.
For 150x210, the slot is 153x213mmx2.4mm, same remarks.

👥 Miniature characters (optional)

The 15x10 diorama works very well with 1:50 scale miniature characters, which match the scene perfectly and reinforce the museum scale. For the 21x15 I suggest a 1:30 scale character.
I created 10 cute couples. I'll add more with diversity if you want, because love is for everybody, just ask!

I was asked for LGBT couples, couples with children and expecting couple, they are now included in the “Couples” print profile! Enjoy and let me know if you want one that isn't represented!!

✨ Design highlights

  • Modular design (frame + insert + decorative frames)
  • Optimized for FDM printing
  • Minimal supports
  • Single printed photo for multiple frames
  • Designed for customization and iteration
  • Everything is included for personnalisation!

Feel free to share your thoughts or ideas on these directions — your feedback is always welcome. Thanks for printing, testing, boosting, and sharing your thoughts ❤️

I've made 3 of these so far and I love how they come out. I created 3d people of the actual people they were made for. have it that little extra something, but honestly it is an awesome little design. I've only made the smaller one, didn't realize there was a larger one until yesterday.

Hi! First of all, thank you for the great design and the web tool — the 15×21 print and the frame itself came out perfectly 👍 I’m having one issue with the layout from the web app, though. I uploaded my photos, clicked Export (bottom right), then inserted the exported image into Word and manually set the image size to 15 × 21 cm. I even created a reference frame in Word that matches the white border of the 3D print exactly, so the overall size is correct. However, when I print it and slide it into the frame, the images inside are still slightly shifted and don’t line up with the frame openings. Additionally, in the largest image (bottom center frame) I can see white vertical bars on the left and right sides Did I do something wrong in the workflow? Is the exported image meant to be printed 100% without resizing, or could Word be changing the scaling/margins in a way that causes this shift? Thanks a lot for your help and for sharing this project!

This turned out beautiful! The figurines definitely makes it better. The picture format app helps, but needs a little tweaking. The pictures didn't quite line up completely, but that could have been an error on my part.

Absolutely awesome model. I am still fine tuning a few things like creating a recessed hole on the top for my ceiling spotlight. Creating this for my anniversary so I want it to be perfect. We are Harry Potter fans so I made some 1:30 scaled Harry Potter figurines for the model. It will be useful in book nooks as well. https://makerworld.com/en/models/2422356-miniature-of-harry-potter-characters-1-30-scaled#profileId-2656644 https://makerworld.com/en/models/2422305-miniature-of-harry-potter-characters-book-nooks#profileId-2656604

Iv tried this three times now and the same pieces keep failing in the same spot. Iv tried adding supports. moving them around the plate. my H2S seems to hate the heart and big frame haha. any ideas how I can fiddle with the settings to push success? everything else printed great!

I've seen this when trying to print directly from the Bambu Handy app. No idea why the frames were left at an angle. I imported the model to Bambu Studio on my PC and lay them flat. Printed much faster and zero issue.

Thank you for your feedback, I apologize for the printing failure. I chose to put the frames printed to maximize the detail quality. I am adding to the 2 profiles a flat version with 0.1mm layers to maintain satisfactory quality. I hope this helps.
